Ingredients
  

Smoothie Base
  • 3 small bananas Ripe bananas for natural sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup milk Any type of milk (dairy or plant-based) can be used.
Greens and Fruits
  • 1 to 2 handfuls spinach Adjust to taste; 1 handful keeps color light.
  • 1 cup frozen berries Blueberries, blackberries, etc.
Additives
  • 1/2 cup bran cereal Such as All Bran original; add last to preserve texture.
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons sweetener Sugar, honey, Truvia, agave, etc.
  • as needed ice cubes Optional for added chill.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Blend bananas and milk until smooth.
  2. Add spinach and blend on a high setting until most of the spinach has been broken down into small pieces.
  3. Add the frozen berries and blend until the mixture is uniform in color.
  4. Add the bran and sweetener, then blend until desired consistency is reached.
  5. If using ice, add it now and blend again until smooth.
Serving
  1. Serve cold in a tall glass or a travel cup.
  2. Stir briefly and drink with a wide straw.

Notes

Store the smoothie in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours or in the freezer for up to one month. Re-blend after thawing.
