  • 1/4 cup bran cereal (All Bran or Raisin Bran) Adds texture and mild sweetness.
  • 1 cup water Can be replaced with milk for creaminess.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
  • 2 tsp brown sugar Add to taste.
  • sprinkle cinnamon For added flavor.
Toppings

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix the oats with the water and salt in a microwave-safe bowl.
  2. Microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds.
  3. Add the bran cereal to the bowl.
  4. Microwave for another 30 seconds.
  5. Add the grated apple and sprinkle the cinnamon over it.
  6. Microwave another 20 seconds if it is not warm enough for you.
  7. Stir in the brown sugar until it melts.
  8. Top with desired toppings like butter, honey, or nuts.
  9. Serve hot in a bowl.

Notes

This oatmeal stores well in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave with a splash of water or milk.
