Ingredients
  

For the Turkey Burgers
  • 1 lb extra lean ground turkey Keep the burger lean but not dry.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons canned chipotles in adobo sauce, pureed Puree first to distribute the heat evenly.
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
For Serving
  • Buns Use lightly toasted buns.
  • Avocado For a creamy texture.
  • Nectarine salsa Brightens the plate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix the ground turkey, garlic, chipotles, chili powder, salt, and pepper together until well incorporated.
  2. Let the mixture sit for several hours or overnight.
  3. Form into 4 patties, making a dent with your thumb in the bottom side of each burger.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the grill to medium high heat.
  2. Grill the patties dent side down, without pressing on them.
  3. Flip after a few minutes and cook until no longer pink.
Serving
  1. Serve the burgers hot from the grill with a smear of avocado and a topping of nectarine salsa.

Notes

Refrigerate cooked patties for up to 3 days. For storage, raw patties can be kept covered in the fridge for 24 hours or frozen for up to 3 months.
