Preparation
- Soften butter for 10-15 seconds in the microwave if it’s cold.
- Pour honey into a bowl with the butter and stir until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and stir until smooth.
- Add more powdered sugar for a thicker spread.
- Spread it on warm lemon cake with a knife or brush.
- Serve extra on the side for guests to add more.
Notes
Store the spread in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. If firm, let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before using. Do not freeze; freezing changes the emulsion and texture.
