Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup peanuts Milled to a very fine texture
  • 1/2 cup golden raisins Can substitute with dates for a sweeter version
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter Use soft or natural peanut butter for best results
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla Adjust to taste
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 to 4 teaspoons water Use to adjust consistency if mixture is too sticky
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons flour Use sparingly to firm up mixture if oily

Method

Preparation
  1. In a food processor, process the peanuts until very fine.
  2. Add the golden raisins, peanut butter, and vanilla, then process again, pulsing until the mixture is smooth.
  3. If the mixture is too sticky, add water a teaspoon at a time until it blends into a large dough ball.
  4. Remove the dough from the food processor and if needed, incorporate flour with your hands to degrease it.
Shaping
  1. Form the mixture into small balls and press each ball twice with a fork to create a criss-cross pattern.
  2. Roll the dough into small, even balls using your hands.
  3. If the mixture feels oily, add a little flour and knead by hand until it firms.
Serving
  1. Place the balls on a plate or tray for serving or chilling.
  2. Serve chilled or at room temperature with beverages like milk, tea, or coffee.
  3. Optionally, sprinkle a little sea salt on top before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week or freeze them for up to one month. For best results, chill the dough briefly before rolling if it feels too soft.
