Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 10 pieces strawberries Use ripe and fragrant strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 4 large juice of lemons Large, juicy lemons like Eureka or Lisbon work best.
  • 1/3 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness of strawberries.
  • 1 3/4 cups water Replace half with sparkling water for fizzy lemonade.
  • to taste rum Optional for adult servings.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Remove the green tops from the strawberries and place the berries in a food processor.
  2. Juice the lemons and add the lemon juice to the food processor with the strawberries.
  3. Add the sugar to the food processor.
  4. Puree the strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar for 15 to 20 seconds.
  5. If desired, strain the puree through cheesecloth to remove seeds and pulp.
  6. Pour the puree into a pitcher and add the water; stir to combine.
  7. Add ice cubes and refrigerate until chilled.
  8. For adult servings, add a little rum to each glass as desired.
  9. Serve in tall glasses over ice, garnished with a strawberry slice or a lemon wedge.

Notes

Store in a covered pitcher in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Chill all ingredients to reduce dilution from melting ice.
